On her return trip to Sydney, the Union Co.'s intercolonial steamer Maheno is to leave AVellington at 11 o'clock to-morrow morning,. THE KARTIGI. Coming from Sydney (C.8.) and-Mon-treal, the steamer Kartigi has not yet reported when she will arrive at Auckland. The Kartigi, which is the latest addition to the Union Co.'s fleet, is on her maiden voyage. She is expected at Auckland about Sunday. . THE TOFUA. To embark passefigers aud to complete her cargo for Auckland, the Union Co.'s IslantJ steamer Tofua arrived at Suva from Nukualofa yesterday morning. The Canopus saUed on her return.trip to Westport to-day. i * The ' Northern steamer Apanui waa unable to sail for the Great Barrier last evening owing to the weather, and her, departure was postponed until to-day. The Richardson steamer Mako, which arrived at Auckland yesterday afternoon, is timed to sail .again for East Coast at noon to-morrow. Haying completed the local portion of her discharge, the White Star liner Athenic went to an anchorage in the stream this morning to await a settlement in the seamen's strike. The Richardson steamer Awahou was delayed in her departure for East Coast bays owing to crew trouble yesterday atternoon. A settlement was reached this morning, and the vessel was expected to sail early this afternoon. The Northern Co.'s steamer Ngapuhi was docked this morning for cleaning and painting. On Saturday she is to leave Auckland for Onehunga, to enter the New Plymouth service. Cargo operations on board the Ham Line steamer Treverbya were interrupted by the rain yesterday afternoon, and the vessel is now not expected to saU for Wellington until Monday nest. The Treverbyn is unloading New York cargo at the Prince's wharf. THE RUAHINE. Now loading for England at the Queen's wharf, the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Ruahine is not expected to be ready for sea until next week. Her future movements have not yet been announced. THE.HENRIK IBSEN. Bound ior Nauru Island to load a phosphate cargo, the Norwegian steamer Henrik Ibsen is expected to leave Auckland at 5 o'clock this afternoon. The Henrik Ibsen arrived from Tauranga yesterday for coal and water, and went to an anchorage in the stream. THE WEST NILUS. In continuation of her voyage from Pacific Coast ports, the Swayne and Hoyt Line steamer West Nilus is expected to leave Auckland for Wellington to-morrow afternoon. The West NUu9 is to proceed from Wellington to Melbourne and Sydney to complete discharge. THE PORT HACKING. According to a wireless report received yesterday afternoon,' the Commonwealth and Dominion Line's steamer Port Hacking will arrive at Auckland with New York cargo on Saturday next. The vessel, which comes ito the local agency of Heather Roberton and Company, will also discharge at WeUington, Lyttelton, Dunedin aird Bluff. CORINTHIC REPORTED. En route from London and Southampton to Wellington and Auckland, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line steamer Corinthic arrived at Colon on Tuesday last. The liner, which is bringing passengers and cargo, is due to arrive at Wellington on October 17, and at Auckland aibout a week later. KAITANGATA IN TORT. Carrying a cargo consisting elii.-H; chaff, the Union Company's steamer Kaitangata arrived at Auckland from Australian ports late last night and anchored in the stream until this morning, when she j berthed at the eastern side of tie Prince's I wharf. The Kaitangata took her final departure from Melbourne and experienced 1 rough seas and fair winds in her trip j across the Tasman Sea, the voyage being, made without incident. The steamer is announced to leave Auckland to-morrow night for Wellington, where she will unload the balance of her cargo. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain J. G. Watson has been appointed master of the Kalapol. Mr. J. It. Hooper, first officer of the Wingatui, has left the ship, and his place has been taken by Mr. R. J. Coyte. Mr. A. S. Knight has joined the Maunganui as third officer, vice Mr. A. R. Noble. Messrs.- M. T. Robertson aud L. W. Moore, assistant wireless operators, have sipned off the Maunganui's articles.' Mr. M. Furneaux, formerly harbourmaster at Westport, is acting second officer of the Ngaio, vice Mr. W. McMillan, who hns transferred to the' Kaltoa as mate. Mr. A. Fißk. late mate of the Kaitoa, is now chief officer of the Ngaio. Captain R. Huntley, late master of the Union Co.'s steamer Karamu, which foundered off the Tasmanian coast lately, arrived at Wellington from Sydney on Tuesday. UNION COMPANY'S STEAMERS. Movements of vessels under the flag of the Union Company are announced as follow :— Kurow Is expected to complete loading nt Portland to-night, and to leave there for Auckland to-morrow morning. At this port she will complete her cargo for the South. Kaiwarra was delayed in her departure by rain yesterday, but was expected to sail for Newcastle at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Whangape was also delayed by the rain yesterday, and cannot now be dispatched for Newcastle before Saturday. Katoa was expected to leave Lyttelton to-day for Wellington and Auckland. Wingatui was expected to leave Lyttelton for Dunedin to-day. Kaimanawa is expected to arrive at Auckland from Westport to-morrow. Kalkoni ■ cleared Newcastle . for Auckland on Tuesday night. She is bringing a coal cargo. Wainui arrived at Gisborne from Auckland at a late hour last night.
