LEAGUE OF NATIONS.
THE ARBITRATION ISSUE. SOME MINOR ISSUES. STABILISATION OF AUSTRIA. (3y Cable.—Press Association. — Copyrights (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, September 21. While the major questions of arbitration and kindred steps towards disarmament are running the gauntlet of diverse ideals in the commissions, some minor issues are already disposed of. The plenary session this morning claimed an outstanding achievement in the stabilisation of Austria, with an expression of hope that control would soon be abolished. It then approved the application of the brake on the wasteful launching of the health inquiries. It also adopted the transit committee's report, in which, following Australians' protest of last year, there is a clause advocating the abolition, so far as is possible, of the passport system and the speedy mitigation of the attendant expense and the disadvantages of the present. There are prospects that the assembly will wind up in a week.— (A. and N.Z.) ITS HEALTH ORGANISATION. (Received 2 pro.) ■GENEVA, September 21. The assembly of tho League resumed its plenary sittings and adopted a number of reports of committees with resolutions, one expressing satisfaction with the work of the League's health organisation.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
