PURDY TO MEET TROWERN. FIGHT WITH DWYER CANCELLED. Charlie Purdy, the young Auckland lightweight, has been matched to fight Keg Trowern, of Auckland, at the Town Halt, on Monday,, September 21, for a purse ot £200. The'; proposed .contest, Purdy v. Hughle Dwyer, : arranged for that date, has been cancelled, owing to the fact that Dwyer has not recovered from an Injury'to his leg, received while training In Auckiana preparatory to meeting Purdy. Dwyer is now In Sydney. . The contest, arranged by the Northern Boxing Association, is scheduled to go i» rounds. By reason of the fact that the boxing public has demanded this flgbt for a considerable time, the two Auckland boys should meet In the presence of a" crowded house.
