LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. SOUTHLAND AGAIN' WINNERS. " (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) - GISBORNE, Friday. In glorious weather and before an attendance of 1500 people the final game in the New Zealand ladies' hockey championship resulted in a win for Southland, who beat Kuuhine by three goals to two, thus retaining the championship. The game was distinguished for the high standard of pf a V attained by the Southern forwards. The victory might be attributed to hard hitting, better placing and better combination on the part of Southland.
