SUGGESTED GAS POISONING.
AVONDALE MAN'S DEATH. I'nder circumstances which suggest suicide by gas-poisoning, George William West, a married man, aged 05, was this morning found dead at his home, 28, Seaview Road, Avondale. Deceased, who was a carpenter by trade, got out of bed during the night, and went into tlie kitchen. This morning, his wife found the door locked. She summoned Constable Hendrickson, who broke into the room, and found the dec-eased lying on the floor with a gas-tube, from which the gas was escaping, near the body. A doctor was called, and stated that Mr. West had been dead for some six or seven hours. Mr. F. K. Hunt. S.M.. will hold an inquest at Avondale this afternoon.
