» « The unemployed on the waiting list at the local office of the Labour Department to-day numbered 193, which is slightly more than last week"? figures. Of the'present applicants 101 are classed as fit for heavy, and 32 for light work. They include 69 labourers, 14 clerks. 17 gardeners and handyinep. 13 fitters, engineers, and turners, and 13 motor drivers, these being the only ones to touch double figures. Since Monday the Department has found private employment for 14 labourers, six farm-hand*, two carpenters, and a tailor and timber worker.
