During the period of this vessel's survey, the passenger service between "Wellington and Westport will be discontinued. The Komata is expected to resume running early in September. nORORATA FROM HOME. On Friday morning last the New Zealand Shipping Company'.s steamer Hororata arrived at Wellington from Home. Tho Hororata loaded at London, and then went to Southampton to pick up her passengers and mails. Southampton was left at noon on July 10, and after a fine passage the. ship arrived at Colon on July 30. , Pan.im.-i Canal was negotiated in the afternoon and a brief stop at Balboa enabled the passengers to have a few hours' run ashore. Fine weather was experienced in the Pacific, and the crossing of the line was celebrated in a most amusing manner owing to the rites performed by an energetic Father Neptune. Unsettled weather set in, strong winds and gnles continuing from August 14 to August 17, which delayed the vessel's progress. Comparatively flue weather marUed the remainder of the voyage. The vessel broucht COS immigrants of a splendid type. They included one mother accompanied by no fewer than 13 young children. The Wairuna sailed from San Francisco on August 11 for Auckland, Wellington. Melbourne, and Sydney. She Is due at Auckland about September 4. The Waiotapu Is due at Vancouver nbo\it August 20, and will load at Pa.eil\c Coast ports early in September fur Auckland, Melbourne'and Sydney. The forward loading dates at Pacific Coast ports are.approximately as follow: — Top September nnd earlyOctober for Napier, Nelson nnd Now Plymouth : the Waitemata, late Spptember and early October for Papeete. PENMORVAH COMPLETING DISCHARGE. To complete discharge of her cargo of guano from Seychelles Islands, the steamer Penmorvah arrived at Auckland from Lyttelton on Saturday evening. She berthed at the King> wharf. The Penmorvah cleared the Seychelles on June I<>, and experienced a boisterous passage to Bluff. After unloading 1400 tons of guano at that port she proceeded to Lyttelton. where .-die, put out a further 1700 tons. At this port she will discharge the balance of 1000 tons.
