Carless, C.8.E., medical director of Dr. Barnardo's Homes, arrived yesterday by the Maheno. Dr. Carlesa waa formerly senior eurgeon at King's College Hospital, London. Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Wells, Brisbane; Mr. W. Whitloek, Tauranga; Mr. \V. B. Freeman, Melbourne; Mr. V. D. Edwards, Matamata; and Mr. W. Hall, Wellington; are at the Star Hotel. ■Grand Hotel guests include Messrs. Malcolm Moss, San Francisco; J. L. Webb, Christchurch; and R. .T. Loe, R. Muller, W. D. Hunt, W. l< , . l\kliolls, and A. Blandforcl, Wellington.
