IMPORTS AND EXPORTS. AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The following goods supplied by Australia could in a large measure be conveniently and competitively supplied by New Zealand (it should be noted that trade in these goods amounts to £110,000 from Australia, and only £12,000 from New Zealand) states the report of the Department of Industries and Commerce, submitted to Parliament to-day:—Bis-cuits, Australia £10,000, New 'Zealand £84; boots and shoes, £3500 (£600); brushware, £1000 (£1801; candles, £140 (£30); cement, United Kingdom £6000, £700 (£365): coal, £36,000 (£13); confectionery £2300 (£2000); cordage and ropes, £5000 (£700); fruit, fresh, £1300 (£400); fruit preserved, £2700 (£260); furniture, £1500 (£80); jams, £2400 (£60); leatherware, £6200 (£600); agricultural machinery, £7000 (£250); manure, £18,000 (£2600); mat___-, £2160 (£20); milk, condensed, £3200 (£2200); oatmeal, £300 (£180); linseed oil, £300 (£40); pickles, £700 (£70); soaps, £3400 (£1030); tar, £850 (£100); twine, £960 (£80); vinegar, £270 (£2O). Totals: Australia, £109,820; New Zetland, £11,962. |
