WAR IN MOROCCO.
FRANCO-SPANISH MOVE, . A NEW OFFENSIVE. PETAIN TO LAUNCH ATTACK. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 2 p.m.) PARIS, August 12. It is learned that landing operations at Alhucemas will begin as soon as the French offensive is launched. The "Echo de Paris," detailing the reorganisation of the Moroccan front, says: "The reserves of two divisions are concentrating behind the line between Fez and Taza. The whole French force is strongly equipped, notably with a new quick-firing rifle. "General Pctain will return to Morocco to inaugurate the new measures." A message from Fez says that Abd-el-Krim is organising the defence along the entire front and preparing strong lines of trenches before Shoshuan.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
FRANCO-SPANISH JUNCTION.
PARIS, August 12. Advices from Wezan, Morocco, state that two French detachments combined in operations for the reprovisioning of a post at Zitouna. They effected a junction with the Spaniards at the River Loukkos.— (Reuter.)
