LONE SAILOR'S ADVENTURE.

FROM B.C. TO ENGLAND,

HIT WITH A BOOM

(Received 10 a.m.) VICTORIA (8.C.), August 10. Commander Maude, who left in a sloop for England in May, and whose whereabouts have caused anxiety for several weeks, landed in an Indian village on the Washington coast on Sunday, partially blinded by the sun's glare. Commander Maude said he was hit on the head by the boom and lay many days semi-conscious. He drifted as far south as Santa Barbara.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
