Accused was under the influence of liquor at the time buf was quite aware of what he was ddinpf. His action was due to a -violent fit of temper; and, after the assault, he had lost his head altogether and broken up everything in the kitchen, including the sewing machine. Evidence was given by Constable McKenzie and corroborated by the son, who said that his father occasionally lost his temper and frightened them.. There were five children. Mr. Hunt, S.M., convicted accused of the offence, and ordered him to come up for sentence at any time within six months. , .'. • -.- ... ... ' ; ...'
