AUSTRALIA* WHEAT AND WOOL. SYDNEY, Aug-USt 10. Following- a request by the Farmers' and SPttlers' Conference for ihe creation or a compulsory wheat pool controlled by the growers tfie Cabinet has decided that if a compulsory pool is established it must be controlled by the Government. The conference passed a resolution in favour or a wool stabilisation scheme on tlie lines of Sir John Hig-gins' proposals, in be controlled by representatives or the wool-grower?. — (A. and N.Z.
