GOLF.

AUCKLAND CLUB.

In the semi-final of the championship of the Auckland Golf Club on Saturday R. D. Wright beat W. S. Ralph, 4 and 2. The wet state of the links, combined with a strong wind, did not make for good golf. Ralph drove a good ball from the tees, but came to grief ou the greens, where he took three putts to hole out on almost every occasion. Wright's approach shots and putting were very good. The players were all square at the turn. The 10th was halved, while Wright won the llth, 12th and 13th. The 14th and 15th were halved, Wright winning the 16th and the match. The match between H. B. Lusk and E. L. Bartleet will be played on Wednesday, and the winner will play Wright in the final.

AUCKLAND V. GLENDOWIE

A match between the Glendowle and Auckland Golf Clubs was, played at Glendowle on Saturday. Folowing are results, Glendowle players being mentioned first: — R. C. Collins beat E. B. Brown, 3 and 2: G. L. Goodwin and W. G. Borrie, all square; W. Hawkins lost to T. Bloomfield, 3 and 2; C. Allcott beat C. M. Gordon, 3 and 2; J. Scholium beat Ross Martin, 3 and 2; R. R. Kissling heat H. Garland, 3 and 2 ; A. Duthle won from W. Abbott by default. The bogey competition was won by S. C. Woods.

MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB.

The second of two qualifying rounds for the senior and junior championships of the Manngakiekie Golf Club were played on Saturday. The seniors and half the junior competitors played on the Titirangi links, the remaining juniors playing at Maungakiekle. The Titirangi links were in very good order, but a heavy shower during the afternoon militated against the return of good cards. The best cards were those of R. George, G. F. Gunson and W. L. Robin-, son, who all went round in 82. The following 16 senior players qualified for the play off: —R. George 162, G. F. Gunson 164, "W. L. Robinson 160, E. L. 'Bartleet 170, 3. D. Dalzlel 170, H. B. 191, N. H. Gorton 193, H. C. Spinley 194, W. J. Hockin 197, A. H. Blackburn 197. A 36-hole medal handicap was played in conjunction with the championships. The winners were :—Senior : A. V. Peace 173 — 20, 153. Juniors, at Titirangi: N. G. Morris, 190—28, 162. Juniors, at Maungakiekie: F. Wiseman, 177—26, 151, and E. A. Tuke, 179—28, 151, a tie.

GLENDOWD3 LADD2S' CLUB,

Following is the draw for the first round of the championship to be played by tne members of the Glendowie Ladies' Goir Club on Wednesdav:-Miss 0. English v. Mrs. Hawkins, Miss Maden v. Miss Friar, Mrs. Hill v. Miss D. Scott, Miss Browne, a bye, Mrs. Markwick v. Miss M. Engllsn, Byes: Miss Mona Hill, Miss Johnson, and Miss D. Walsh. In the final of the match play tournament (Mrs. Browne defeated Miss M. English, 1 up. Mrs. Hawkins won the one club match over 12 holes with a net score of 61, Miss Friar being second with 62. Mrs. Browne handed in the best card for the L.G.U. match, 115— 2S— S7.

MAUNGAKIEKD2 LADIES' CLUB.

Following Is the draw for the first round of the senior and junior championships to be played on the One Tree Hill links on Wednesday by members of the Maungakiekie Ladies' Golf Club :—Mrs. Horton plays Miss Haslett, Mrs. Alison plays Miss Stubbs, Mrs. Dufaur plays Miss Duder, Miss Grlerson plays Mrs. Bannister. Mrs. White plays Miss Colebrook. Mrs. Taylor plays Miss McCabe, Mrs. Burton plays Mrs. Miller, Miss Hill plays Mrs. Willis. Mrs. Malcolm plays Mrs. Carr. Miss Brown plays Mrs. Blair, Mrs. Carnahan plays Mrs. Schnauer, Mrs. Gibson plays another. A medal round will be played for those not In the championships. Post entries will be received, and players are to choose partners. The best scores returned for the monthly medal matcb, were:—Seniors: Miss Haslett, 97—20, 77; Mrs. Horton, 96—18, 78. Juniors : Mrs. Reid. 109—30, 79 ; Mrs. Colebrook, 101—21, SO. The farewell match for Mrs. J. W. McIlraith, which was postponed, will be played nest Friday.

PAPAKURA LADIES' CLUB

The third round for Mrs. Pirle's Trophy resulted in a tie between Miss McLennan and Miss Little. The following is the result of the first round of the championship : —'Miss McLennan beat Miss Little, 2 and 1 ; Mrs. Earlbeat Mrs. Williamson, 2 and 1 : Mlsb Wood beat Miss O'Callaghan. 3 and 2: Miss Walker beat Mrs. Elliott. 4 and 2: Miss Wilkins beat Mrs. Busing at the nineteenth : Miss McKlnnon beat Miss Cosgrove, 7.

HAMILTON CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP.

The first rounds of the senior and junior club championships were played at St. Andrew's links on Saturday. The conditions were fairly good, with a slightly tricky wind across the course. Results were:— Seniors. —Simpson beat Tate. 2 and 1; Gibbons beat Bellingham, 3 and 2; Morpeth beat Western, 3 and 2; Winter beat Horton 2 up ; W. D. Ross beat Wake, 1 up ; Gilby beat Guy, 4 and 3. Juniors.—Atkins beat Hutchinson, 6 and 5; Audrey beat Kirton, 3 and 2; Wilson beat Warden, 4 and 3; Cox beat Griffin. 8 and 0; Hooker beat Ross, 3 and 2 ; Strang beat Hare, 4 and 2; Mercer won from Armstrong by default; Gray won from Day by default.
