There -were" 21.374,500 automobiles in use throughout the world on January 1. 1925. With the addition of 3,133*031 cars and trucks during the preceding twelve months, the 1924 increase was at the rate of 17.2 per cent. Slightly more than one million motor cycles are now in" use, the indicated figure, which does not cover all territories, being 1,071,239. Excluding tho United States, which still has the bulk of- all automobiles (17.740.230), the 1925 world registration is 3,034;272 units, the increase during the year having been 625,403 vehicles. The rate of gain for all countries was slightly under 21 per cent. The total is composed of 2,521.410 cars and 798,953 trucks, with an additional 213.909 vehicles not specified as to character. By far the largest part of these are passenger cars. The motor cycles in the world, outside of the United States, approximate 931,571. These are the major results of the 1925 world census, covering 114 countries.
