FOR THE BLIND.
CAMPAIGN FOR BUILDING SCHEME
What are you doing for the blind? That is the question the organisers of the appeal on behalf of the Blind Institute Building Fund are putting to every citizen of this city. Who can answer it without hesitation? Some can, at any rate, but there are many who have not yet given. The appeal is one that goes right to the hearts of all who realise the unfortunate position of those blind men who are now sleeping in temporary quarters, awaiting the pleasures of Aucklanders to subscribe the amount that will mean for them the building of a new home. It does not need a great mind to realise that it is not right that unfortunate people already deprived of the greatest gift in life should have '' any further burden placed upon them. A "big advertisement in this issue of the "Star" asks every man, woman, and child who can, to give. It makes an appeal to employers and employees. "Employees are responding in a magnificent manner. The employers will do so; that fact is guaranteed. £5000 from the employees will be met with £5000 from the employers." The need is urgent, and the sooner the citizens reepond the sooner will the minds of those for whom the appeal is being made, be set at rest. As the advertisement ears: "Send your thank-offering for sight to E. E. Nalder, hon. secretary and treasurer, Commercial Bank Building*, Queen Street." J^^te
