New Waiotahi.—The rise from the intermediate drive to the mala level •was found to be on a reef 13ft in the feotrwall of the reef, which produced the gold from the level upward*. The drive has been advanced five feet for the week, leaving 10ft farther to reach the reet The country rock is favoura-ble for gold. The footwall .reef has been driven on for 30ft, from which pieces of picked stone were obtained, and, as far as can be seen, is intact and should be well worth working. The crosscut for the Waio-tahl-Cambria reef ha* been advanced 6ft for tfieVeek: the country rock being somewhat firmer, but of a good description for gold should a reef be met with.

Majestic!— The mine manager reports that during the fortnight ending 25th inst. in the North Section the drive on the Mara toto reef was extended 33 feet, making 155 feet from the main crosscut The face has not shown any further improvement and the last round of holes contiined less sulphide ore.. In the SoUth section the contractors drove 28 feet, making "the total distance 770 feet. A change in the country has taken place, and splendid minerals have appeared. This country, although harder, shoots well. The reef should be to hand in the next few rounds. Zeehan Consolidated.—The mine manager, reporting for the week ending the 25th inst.. states there is a marked improvement in the ore which has been encountered in the rise on the Zeehan North. Reef. The contractors have driyen 15 feet for the past week on the North Beef, bringing-this drive to a total of 106 feet from the main level. The rise is about 40 feet from the. present working face and about 70 feet from the main level. The first ronnd of holes was fired out last night, and the quart* is of an ideal nature Quite a number of pieces were found to contain free gold in a very.flne state. When the next round of holes is fired it is quite possible that the appearance of still bet? ter ore will result. The quartz continues of a kindly nature, with mbre minerals and silica being the dominant constituent.
