In coYnpk-tion of her first trip in the Norfolk Island service, the old Government steamer Hinernoa, which is running under the auspices of the Cook Island Administration, returned to Auckland yesterday morning. The Hinemoa has thua resumed the service which ceased with the loss of the trader Rama at the Cluitharns towards the end of last year. On her recent trip the Hinemoa carried supplies to the inhabitants and brought back a quantity of fruit, consisting chiefly of oranges. She also carried passengers both to and from the island. Two seaside dwelling- at Shelly Park. Howick. were burnt to the ground last Friday, at 4.30 a.m. One of these was owned by Mr. Molcock, and the other by MissM. Davis, the Litter being let to Mr. Farland.
