CARE OF ENAMELLED WOOD.

White or other light coloured enamel requires care in washing, or the glossy nature of the surface will bo spoilt. j Prepare plenty of warm soapy water, as strong soap powders should not be used to make a lather. Boiling water ' can be poured through a soap-saver containing scraps of hard soap. In hardwater districts a little borax can be ■ used to soften the water. i For washing the paint, use a soft cotton or linen cloth, and a little hard soap can be rubbed on if necessary. Do not use friction-soap or anything of a gritty nature. For removing dirt from cracks of window frames, chair-rails, etc., a small inexpensive paint brush is very handy. Rinse in clear water and finally rub with a clean, damp leather.
