DRY CLEANING AT HOME

Many of its resort to home dry-clean-ing methods in order to preserve a freshness and sjwtlessness till the time conies to replace winter garments by summer ones. Furs can be freshened up by a generous rubbing with warm bran. Rub the bran well in, leave the fur rolled up for an hour or two, and then beat it with a small whisk. White furs like ermine are best treated with warm flour. Dark furs may be rubbed gently with a soft cloth dipped in ammonia and water. Benzine is an excellent medium for removing , dirt from silks, coloured or otherwise. When using benzine or petrol have ready two bowls and be careful never to work with the spirit near a fire or light. Outside in the open is the best place. Dip your article in the first bowl, squeezing and sousing it for a few minutes, then plunge it into the second bowl and after squeezing it as dry as possible hang out in the air till all emell is removed.
