SWIMMING.
Percy MacGillivray was the American champion swimmer in the days before Ludy. Langer put California on the natatorial ma]>. As athletics go in America MacGillivray is almost prehistoric. Yet he recently covered a hundred yards in 50s. He was not placed in a field tbat comprised most of the American water marvels. If MacGillivray were in Australia he would still be champion.
