FIRE AT TE KUITI.

■ * (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, Friday. A six-roomed house owned by Mr. Hanwright, and occupied by Mr. J. Sturges, was totally destroyed by fire last * evening. The brigade was promptly on the scene, but owing to the altitude of the building the water pressure was inadequate to check the progress of the flames. Part of the furniture was saved. The insurances are £900 on the house in the Commercial Union Office, and £350 on the furniture in the State Fire Office.
