THE DAVIS CUP. BRITAIN BEATS DENMARK. COPENHAGEN, May 29. Britnin defeated Denmark in the second challenge round of tbe Davis Cup contest, winning the first three matches played. Tn the doubles. Oodfree and Kingsley beat Ulrich and Worm, 7—5, 7—5, 6—2. In the second singles match, Gilbert (Britain) beat Ulrich (Denmark)'. 6—l, 9—ll, 2—o, 6—4, 6—2.— (A. and N.Z.) THE MIDDLESEX GAMES. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 29. In the Middlesex tennis championships, second round, Eindop and Miss Robinson beat Lancaster and Mrs. Melody, 6—l, 7—s.—(Reuter.) TENNIS IN ENGLAND. LONDON, May 29. At Cliisn-ick Park, in the Micltlleecx tennis championships, Mrs. Stebhing and Mrs. O'Neill defeated Miss Tomhlin. and Miss Melody, 6—o, 6—3. In the final of the amateur golf championship." held at Westward Ho. Robert Harris won.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) Mr. Harris won the Dundee Telegraph Cup in 1902, the Royal St. George Sandwich Cup in 1005 and 1020. He has many other wonderful wins to hi 3 credit. He is 43 years of age.
