BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES.
INCREASE IN AUCKLAND. An increase in the number of births, deaths and marriages in Auckland during the first five months of this year, as compared with the corresponding period last year, is reported by Mr. F. Evans, the Registrar. Tbe births for the five months totalled 1445 a3 against 1380 in the first five months of 1924; the deaths were 648 as against 633; and the marriages were 878 (235 before tho Registrar), as against 805 (227 before the Registrar). During tbe past month there were 310 births, 144 deaths, and 135 marriages (31 before the Registrar) as compared with 295 births, 150 deaths and 148 marriages (33 before the Registrar) in May of last year.
