IN THE WAITAKERES. THE OWNKK'S OBJECTIONS. A considerable amount of dfacusvciti ensued on a propoßnl made liy the Auckland City Council to take 130 acres (if land, situated in the Waitnkeres, owned by Mrs. F. J. Sisain, under tlic J'lil.lic Works Act, for the purpose of providing a public park and recreation reserve. : Together with her solicitor, .Mr. Ennor, Mrs. Sisam and l]<-r son were in attendance at last night's meeting of the Council in order to state lief objections to the Council taking the property. She .submitted that already the j Council bad any amount of land for the purpose of a recreation reserve. Her I family had poswoned the land for 75 I years, and she did nnt now desire to Ibe dispossessed. However, if the worst I came to the worst she would be pre|pared to negotiate with the city Council for the sale of 2(1 iicres. When Mrs. Kisain left, the meeting, iit was moved that the Council j should go into committee to discuss the matter, together with t),<- taking of [another area of land owned by Mr. it. jB. Hyatt.
