LAST NIGHT'S MEETING. The Auckland City Council met last night. There were present: The Mayor (Mr. George Baildon)'. and Messrs. ,1. A. Warnock, J. W. Court, (i. Knight. .T. Robertson. C. F. Bennett. L. A. Eafly, G. Brownlee. F. W. H. Brinsden, T. Bloodworth, J. Dempspy, .1. A. C. Alluin. S. I. Crookes, J. YV. Hardle.y, M. J. Heinett, J. B. Paterson. A. Thompson. E. .1. Phelan, M. .1. Coyle. ,T. Donald, A. J. Entrican, and Miss E. "Melville. The town clerk advised that drawings on electric poles had boon produced to the new Tramways Committee by the arrangement of the tramway recording clocks was before the council last evening a "The* a chief P t?aflic inspector (Mr. Geor B e Hognn) reported that 17 boys had been caught riding on trolleys In Ponsonby and rnrnell Roads on May IS and l'.i. lie desired to know whether to institute proceedings or not. Mr. LJop.'in was instructed to take nelion where necessary, and that the headmasters of the various 'schools be requested to bring the matter before the notice of all pupils.
