I SYDNEY CONVERSAZIONE. DUPING THE PUBLIC. j (Received 2 p.m.) SYDXEV, this day. When many prominent citizens and visitors presented themselves lor admission to the university graduates' conversazione last night, they found they were holders of forged invitatione issued by Borne persons unknown. As' the available accommodation was filled by those officially invited, they had to be turned away. The authorities learned of the plot during the afternoon and took prompt action. Guards were posted at all tlfe entrances, and a squad of pnlire brought up. About 400 were pent hnck. The majority took the situation philosophically. ><ome were annoyed at being duped, but the cervices of the i police were not required.—A. and X.Z. j
