BREACH OF PROMISE.
JCDGMEXT FOR £.r,o. (By Telceraph— Prcsa Association.) WELLINGTON", Wednesday. A breath of promise action was broupht by Dorothy Uarlow against H. H. Johnston, nn electrical engineer claiming £740 damage?. Plaintiffs c-ase was that they became engaged last year and defendant in December broke it off. The defence was a complete denial of the allegation. According to plaintiffs evidence several other men wished to marry her and slie was actually engaged to' one, Imt Johnston persuaded her to give the man up. She was earning £8 a week ! and defendant only £<), and it was decided to wait two m< nth-, when the latt*r expected promotion. j Mr. Justice JlacUregor gave judgment j for plaintiff for £350.
