Wembley authorities rejected a scheme for a, matrimonial bureau for the purpose of into contact the domesticated maidens of Britain with colonials. The promoter of the scheme undertook to erect dancing ruarquc.ee, and even suggested that overseas visitors might select wives for friends unable to come to Wembley. Ho also stipulated ior a percentage of thu profits, pointing out that the scheme would result in enormous attendance and thereby wipe out the Exhibition's debt.—(A. and >".£. Cable.)
