Despite secrecy as to the time of the ceremony, a great crowd gathered at St. Mark's t hiireh, Audley Street, to witness the religious ceremony of marriage between Karl Cardigan' and Miss Joan Salter, who were secretly married at a registry ollice last July. ' Disclosure of the latter fact provided a society sensation last week. The inipiisitive throng was duped by the bride and bridegroom entering and leaving by the back door of the church. Tlie ceremony was long over before they realised *\\ey had been tricked. The bride, who is the daughter of an Isle of Wight architect, bus been living with friends since duly, while the bridegroom has been completing bis studies at Oxford.- (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
