OTAHUHU BOROUGH.
RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION FORMED. A public meeting or ratepayers was held in the otahuhu Public Hall for the purpose of forming a ratepayers' association. iMr. Alfred McDonald, who presided, stated that Ihe proposed association was of vital interest to the borough, and In view of the coming elections the present was an opportune time to commence operations. There was no necessity for hostility with the present council, both bodies to work harmoniously. Mr. G. V. Tearce. one of Ihe conveners of tlie meeting, stated that Otahuhu was in n state of great advancement, und more progress had been made within the past three years than the previous ten. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. A. McDonald! secretary, Mr. O. V. Pearee: treasurer. Mr. 3. Hunter: committee, Captain Potter. Messrs. T. I.lpiiiatt, F. Andrew, TV. Dennlson. C. Boniface. Palmer, C. Morgan, W. Taylor, H. Thorpe. The association has a. membership of .1(1. It was resolved to Invite all candidates. including members of the present council, to address the next meeting ot the association.
