ENSIGN WITH THREE PALM TREES. An interesting- item appears in the latest New Zealand "Gazette" relating to the authorisation of a flag to be flown by Samoan vessels. It has been decided by the Admiralty that vessels belonging to the inhabitants of the islands' oi Western Samoa shall be permitted to wear the red ensign of His Majesty's fleet with the badge of the islands of Western Samoa on the fly thereof, namely three palm trees proper.
