LAMB FOR ENGLISH CHRISTMAS. The London manager of the New Zealand Meat Producer*' Board has received hundreds of complimentary letters from recipients of carcases of New Zealand lamb distributed by the board at Christmas time on behalf of friends in New Zealand. A typical letter was one received from Wicklow, which reads as follows:—"I now take the pleasure of saying I received the lamb on Christmas Eve, and it was really lovely—much nicer than our Home lambs. We shared it with a dozen people, and we heard nothing'but praise about it. It was wonderful 'being so nice to have come so far." South American Exports. The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received a cable from its representative at Buenos Aires, South America, advising the following shipments to the United Kingdom for the fortnight ended April 17, 1925, from Argentine and Uruguay:—243,ooo quarters chilled beef, 40,566 quarters frozen fceef, 138,500 carcases frozen mutton, 50,033 carcases frozen lamb. The quantity shipped to the Continent of Europe during the same period totalled:— 299,150 quarters frozen beef, 14,794 carcases frozen mutton, 1000 carcases frozen lamb.
