OVERSEAS SPORT.
INTERNATIONAL RUGBY. ENGLAND DEFEATS FRANCE. PARIS. April 4. In the international Rugby football match, England v. France, played at Colombe yesterday, England won by 13 points to 11. The ground was hard. Nine minutes from the start Luddington kicked a beautiful goal for England from a mark. Four minutes later a combined movement by the English outsides ended in Wakefield scoring a try, which Luddington converted. The Frenchmen were playing hard and tackling well, but the Englishmen were wetting the ball from the scrums most of the time. After a fine run by Dv Manoir, Piquiral scored a try for France, which Dv Cousso converted. Shortly before the interval Wickcs scored a try, which Luddington converted. In the second half the French were attacking most of the time- They showed superior speed, and Cluchagf Bcored twice, but neither try was converted. The closing stages were most exciting, with a series of scrums close to the English line. -Tust before the end Corbett cleared for England.—(Router.) THE PUGILISTS. McTIGUE V. BERLENBACH.
