REPUBLICAN COMEDY. PARTS, April 8. A comedy of burpaucracy has been disclosed. A tradesman whose taxes are' from GOOO to 7000 francs annually received a demand for 32 francs .11 centimes. He paid the 32 francs, and was then officially warned that unless lie paid the 11 centimes his furniture would he seized. To-day the authorities seized two tables, a sideboard, three chairs, and a gas radiator, selling them in order to recoup a halfpenny.— (A. and N.Z.)
