AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. j ANNUAL MEETING HELD. -' The twenty-second annual meeting of the Auckland Hockey Association was held Iα the Chamber of Commerce last evening, Mr. h. C. Kent (president) presiding. There was a good attendance. Mr. Kent urged the importance of hockey at tbe primary schools to develop, future players. He said that a handsome cup tad been presented by Mr. L. 11. Norton for competition among North Island primary schools as a memorial to his brother, Lieut. R. 11. I. Norton, and the first tournament would probably take place this season. Officers were elected for the ensuing year as follows:—Patron, Mr. Eliot R. Davis; rice-patron. Mr. L. 11. Norton; president, Mr. L. C. Kent: vice-presidents, Messrs. H. B. Speight, H. B. Burnett, and A. S. Player; hon. secretary, Mr. E. J. Hewitt; hon. treasurer, Mr. Arthur Playle : nssistant hon. secretary, Mr. W. J. L. Davern; executive committee. Messrs. Ritchie, E. S. Watts, A. Satchell, C. 11. Hovord, A. Burton, D. 11. Hume, R. Totter, and E. Chambers; hon. auditor. Mr. A. C. Johns: delegates to iw Zealand Hockey Association, Messrs. J. Taylor and G. Ellyett. It was unanimously decided to suggest to the New Zealand Association that an Australian hockey team be invited to visit the Dominion this season. A letrer was received stating that the Mw Zealand Challenge Shield tourney would take place in Wellington this year. . The opening date of the new season was fixed for May 'J, and Mr. A. I'lnyle wol appointed chairman of the executive committee. N'ominntions for the grade championships close on Monday, April 27. The idea of holding a sports dny, in conjunction witb other sports bodies, in aid oi charities, was approved.
