EXPERIMENTAL FARMS.
NORTHERN TTATROA SOCIETY. (Hy Telegraph. —Press Association.) DARGAVILLE, this day. \t a largely attended meeting of farmeM, presided over by Mr. Colin ore Williams." yesterday afternoon, it was decided to form a Northern Wairoa Experimental and Demonstration Farm Society (incorporated), also to take three years' lease of an 125 acre farm adjoining the borough boundary. Mr. ('.' J. Hainlin, assistant Instructor of Agriculture, gave an address on the working of the Stratford experimental farm. The following committee was appointed: Messrs. Colmore Williams, F. Jones. Silby, Voider, Morgan, Bagnall; .secretary and treasurer. Mr. Angus; auditor,' Mr. J. Hogg. Rules drafted by the old committee were adopted, and membership subscription was fixed at 5/. (lose, on o0 new members were elected. It was resolved to canvass for members, to have the society incorporated, ask the Government for the first £300 promised. Mr. Lewis stated that Government officials had notified him that a farm school week would be held at Dargaville from May 18 to May 23. This news was received with enthusiasm. At a subsequent meeting of the committee the Government official was elected chairman and Mr. F. Jones deputy chairman.
