(To the Editor.) Sir, —The Minister of Justice i= responsible for some strange freak 3 and some wild innovations regarding the administration of justice. Some of these may bi' classed as humanitarian side lines. The most remarkable of these new law ■"tunes is the suppression of criminal names in the law courts, which is now a common practice. Any plausible solicitor can bluff the trilling magistrate co suppress the name of an often-time hardened offender. The New Zealand courts have a monopoly of this practice.
