RISING SUN. i RECONSTRUCTION AGREED TO. '; At a special meeting of shareholders in the Rising Sun Gold Mining Company, held yesterday afternoon, the resolutions , were confirmed in favour of voluntary liquidation and the reconstruction, of the ' company. Mr. J. !£. Jackson was anpointod i liquidator. i Mr. W. BloniiMd, chairman; said the directors were taking up 10.000 shares • under the reconstruction scheme, which ' showed their confidence in the mine. The ; directors had also foregone £1500 accumulated fees owing to them. ' The amount of capital to be raised in the 1 new company is £18,750, in 75.000 shares, ■ at 5/ each. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. < I . ___.i * Zeehan Consolidated- —The manager rel ports that the south drive on the Zeehaa . I reef at No. C level-was advanced S feet for the week ending the 14th inst. The 5 reef continues to carry galena and zinc t blends. The drive on the north break was j advanced 9 feet. The reef wall mentioned last week proved to be a reef up to 3 feet - wide, composed of sound quarts IS nch"S - wide. On the footwall it carries galena, s copper pyrites and zinc blends, and assays 12/9 per ton for gold and silver; the ■ hangingwall portion is composed of quartz ) veins and stringers. In the intermediate ; which is above No. 5 level the Zeehan reef continues to provide good ore from the ' stope going north. The first round of hole* f drilled in the winze with the machines will 3 be fired out on the 17th inst. An increased flow of water from the south face pre- ' vented work being done this week. 1 Four-in-Hand.—Mr. .1. W. Barker, who - iias been appointed Mine Manager in place . of Mr. Wh. U. Patterson, reports :—He made a thorough Inspection of the workings, 1 bith in the Four-in-Hand section and in " the Tainui portion of the property. la ; the former, much more work has been done , en the different reefs than in the latter. " The Four-in-Hand reef and the Cuirassier ' lode have evidently been great gold pro- . ducers. The Qo-.intry rock in this section is very favourable for gold, providing the feeders, cr vertical heads are strong enough to strike the reef. Above No. 1 level oil the Cuirassier towards Boswell's Drive, a. '• large block of ground is available for stoping, and from that level to the surface there is also a considerable block of ground intact. He understands that above Boswell's level the ore tested was satisfactory as a low grade proposition anil the ground easy to work, but apart from this a shoot of gold bearing stone I specimens) may be met with at any time. At. So. 1 'evel on the same reef, very rich gold was met with in the past in favourable rock, carrying a series of well-defined mineral heads. Below this level frjm tii? intermediate is a large block of ground intact, , with the same mineral heads alluded to above dipping to the north. This biock going south should be driven on, and a shaft will be placed to drivp on the mc! as soon as the necessary cleaning, up is completed. The country is very favourable for gold, and probably picked stone will l^ , secured. In the other direction on lie same reef and level, i.e.. driving north, the same class of country is showing, the whole of the ground being intact and therefore , worthy of attention. Jn the Tainui section, several patches of cold have been secured in the past. The reef is inclined to be erratic in its course, and where gold has been got is on flatheads or horizontal seams. A crushing of approximately 30 tons of general ore from this reef is* now ready for treatment. Ohinemuri.—The mine manager reports - tnat the south drive at No. 3 level was . extended twenty feet during the past forti n i" -'- lnakin S -1 total of 1312 feet from tne bilverstreani crosscut. A vein 3* feet wide, which came over from the footwall. is still being carried with the drive, and will shortly junction with the hangincwall of the Camoola reef. Nice streaks of siilI phide are showing in this vein, and samples are being sent to the office for I inspection. The heavy Row of water met I with a few foet b.-ick shows signs of abating, and there is evidence that the drainage of the No. 2 level is being effected. A new contract fur driving 200 ; feet is being let. Upon the completion of this work the drive will be nt a point corresponding with the face of \*o. 2 level, 200 feet above. j Majestic.—The manager reports that 1 during the fortnight ►"iklpil March 14 the , contractors have driven ii further 24 feet lin the south drive, on the Marototo reef, ■ making the total distance from the main j crosscut 4SO feet. The roi.f is five feet wide, with small vugs carrying wnter, aurt lis mineralised stone with small veins of . sulphide showing. In the Payroek section a further 31 feet has been driven, makinc a total of iSO feet. The country rock is hard mineralised stone. The power plnnt was stopped for five days to enable repairs to be made to the producer. —
