THE SHORTLAND CASE.
LEAVE TO APPEAL GRANTED. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Full Court this morning granted leave to prisoners to appeal iii the cases of Frederick Shortland (Auckland), found guilty of rape and sentenced by Mr. Justice Herdmau to 10 years' hard labour and to be flogged with 10 strokes, and Patrick Haydcn (Wanganui), found guilty of indecent assault and sentenced by Mr. Justice Macgregor to 15 years hard labour. In five other cases leave to appeal was refused. .
