A MESSAGE FROM WELSH MINERS TO MEM OF AUCKLAND. Honest, hard-toiling, acquisitive, and shrewd are the miners of Wales. Every penny they earn is hard-earned, and is spent with the greatest of consideration. Their work is grimy, they do not need many good clothes, but it is customary 'for every miner to possess at least one " best " or " Sunday " suit, and this suit is usually of navy serge. Years ago, the English manufacturers of an exceptionally good navy secge introduced it to the Welsh miners. At that time this serge did not have a special name, but the miners soon found that it was so superior to any serge they had ever worn, and they became so enthusiastic about it that they soon made it famous throughout Wales. The manufacturers decided, as a token of esteem for their patronage and good judgment, to give the serge a Welsh name. This is how " Cymric"' Serge (pronounced Kumrik) derived its name. The word " Cymric " signifies " Welsh," The message these Welsh miner 3 send to Auckland is to investigate the merits of this superb navy serge immediately it comes to Xew Zealand. " Cymric " Serge is now available in Auckland, the sole agency having been granted to Messrs. Hunter and Sons. Ltd.. Elliott Street, Auckland, where stocks are now to hand and investigation is invited. " Cymric" Serge is made of Merino 70's, the finest Botany wool, to get 1 greatest fibre strength. It is tightly i spun to give greatest textile strength"; 'is finely woven fo give greatest number of threads per inch, therefore greatest surface strength; is finished to avoid the shining surface so prevalent in. navy serges. But over and above, it is a guaranteed serge, and here's the guarantee: '-"Should the cloth fade, or shrink, or not give satisfactory wear, the garment will be replaced free of all charge-' 5 ' This is the maker's guarantee, which fs unhesitatingly passed on to the public by the agents, Hunter and Sons. Ltd. See " Cymric " Serge at Hunter and Sons, Ltd., Elliott Street (just through the Strand Arcade), the newly-appointed agents for "Cymric Serge. Patterns , sent upon written re^ue^st. —(Ad.)
