TO SELL IX AUCKLAND. The executive of the Returned Soldiers' Association . met yesterday to decide the allocation of the funds from this years Poppy Day (April 24) appeal. Ie was agreed that 00 per cent be given to the. Veterans , Home, 30 per .cent to the Disabled Soldiers' Fund, and 10 per cent to needy cases arising out of unemployment. Twenty thousand small- and three thousand five hundred large poppies have already arrived at Auckland from France. The poppies are made by French war widows and sent throughout the. colonies. In Auckland last year badges were sold in place of the poppies as; a protest against the decision or the Dominion Association- to devote all the proceeds from the sale of the llowers to the funds of the association. The Mayoress (Lady Gunson) has charge of the organisation .of the 'appeal, and a meeting of those willing to help will be held shortly.
