CASES IN HOSPITAL.

Dr. C. Maguire, the medical superintendent at the Auckland Hospital, reported to last evening's meeting of the Hospital Board, that since February 16 there had been 35 cases admitted to hospital, making a total of 112 since the first admission on November 26. There were eight deaths in the period, making a total of 26 deaths since the commencement of the epidemic. During the last four weeks the cases had been of a more severe type than previous ones. The routine treatment followed had been by lumbar puncture and the intrathecal injection of blood serum from persons convalescent from the disease. The CO patients in hospital were practically all doing well.
