THE DISCOVERY OF GRIMMETT.
I — » j SUCCESSFUL NEW ZEALANDER I THE TRIUMPH OF YOUTH. ENGLISH ANTICIPATIONS. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyrig-ht.) (Received 0.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 17. The '"Evening Standard"' says that to be beaten by South Australia is somewhat humiliating, but Grimmett has been on the scene. The discovery of a bowler of high-class is as interesting to the cricket world as a new comet to the astronomers. The results of the tour do not equal English anticipations. The unevenness lof England's batting continued to the end. Gillienn. Douglas. Chapman. Bryan. Tvklesley. and Howell have not realised Britain's hopes. The play on both sides I witnessed the triumph of youth. EngI land must now look to the development of younsrer men for 192(5. After the present tour the time limit should surely be applied to Tests.— (A. and N.Z.)
