GOVERNMENT OF EGYPT
RECONSTRUCTION OF CABINET WAFD AND ZAGHLUL PASHA. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 10.30 a.tn.l LONDON, March 17. The Cairo correspondent of the ■•Times" discloses that the reconstruction of the Egyptian Cabinet was a tactical move designed to thwart Wafd manoeuvres. ]t was originally planned to postpone reconstruction till later, but the Wafd actively announcing Zaghlul's return, delay would be construed as confirming the assertion of immediate reconstruction. It is therefore necessary to demonstrate to the country that the Y\ afd has not a chance of returning to power. ■A message from Cairo states that, on behalf of Sidky Pasha (Minister for the Interior), Ingram Bey called upon the ex-Prime Minister (Zaghlul Pasha) yesterday and warned him in regard" to alleged unauthorised meetings and antiGovernment speeches at his house. He requested Zaghlul to take steps to remedy the position in order to obviate action by the Government. Ziwar Pasha will lead a coalition against the Wafd party. His Government will be strongly hostile to Zaghlul. The session will decide much for Egypt and also for the Empire.—(Reuter and "Times.")
