PEACE AT NEW PLYMOUTH. MAYOR'S SUCCESSFUL MEDIATION (By Telegraph.—Press Association.* NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. The shipping deadlock at New Plymouth has ended after the work of the port had been held up for a fortnight. A call for labour will be made to-morrow morning. The settlement was reached through the mediation of the Mayor, who received assurances from the officials of the watersiders to-day that all calls foi labour under the award would be answered in future. This assurance was acepted by the employers and work will resume to-morrow.
