QUEEN STREET BUILDINGS.

FINE ENTRANCE TO CITY. The building which the Dilworth Trust Board propose to erect on the site of the Thames Hotel is to be of handsome appearance, built to the full height permitted by the by-laws, and having a tower above the level of the top floor, so as to improve the appearance of the whole. It is understood that a similar building is to be erected by the board on the opposite side when the lease of the Waitemata Hotel expires. Permission to erect the tower was granted on account of its attractiveness, and the fact that it would be an appropriate entrance to the business centre of the city from the waterfront.
