FRUIT SHIPMENTS.

HELD IN COLD STORES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. All North Island fruit destined for the steamer Waimana is now in cool storage in Wellington. The secretary of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers'' Federation stated to-day that some 2000 cases of apples from Hawke's Bay, Auckland and Blenheim were held here.

The bulk of the Waimana's allotment, however, is in store at Nelson, where some 15,000 cases are waiting to be lightered out to the vessel when she calls at that port.

The Rotonia took 6200 cases of apples, but the lonic, which is to load 11,000 cases, is held up at Lyttelton. The apples for this shipment are just about ready for picking, and will have to be sent to cool chamber.
