OFFICIAL ULTIMATUM.
MEN MUST OBEY AWARD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The secretary of the Employers' Association to-day sent official notification th*t no labour will be engaged until a satisfactory undertaking is given by the union that all vessels be worked in accordance with the terms of the Arbitration Court award.' .
There are indications that there will be a stern fight on the waterfront unless a speedy solution of the difficulty is reached. In the meantime the position on the waterfront is becoming more serious, and the only vessels worked yesterday were the ferry steamers Maori and Ngaio. The number of idle boats will increase every day, and, as every fresh arrival has cargo for discharge at Wellington, the possibilities of there being a shortage of supplies of household necessities should the deadlock continue cSnnot be overlooked.
