APPRENTICES ACT.
APPEAL TO EMPLOYERS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) i WELLINGTON, this day. Replying to a deputation regardiug I the Apprentices Art the Minister of : Labour, the Hon. li. .1. Ander.-on, made lan appeal to employers to give the Act ; a fair trial. Mr. Anderson stated that a : great deal of time and attention had 1 lieen put into the Act, which was thoroughly democratic an<l denned w> th the object of putting iippreulicea on a reasonable ami proper He was very disappointed with the employers, who had not set up committees. If "anythiujr. the Act was more in favour of employers than employee-:. "I make another apnea] to-nieht/tn i ] u- employers throughout Nov.- Zealand t" sot up these committees, and endeavour to make the Act workable. If it is found that the Act is not workable, then it can be amended. I believe it is workable," be concluded.
